The evolution of the Tallaght Flag
The 8-pointed stars of several versions of the Tallaght Flag were inspired by the 32 starred Fenian flag recovered after the Battle of Tallaght in 1867. This is the only known flag relating historically to Tallaght.
The purpose of 6 stars was originally intended to represent the different phases of human existence in the area, from mythology and prehistory to the historical past, present and percieved future.
